Early this morning, police responded to reports of gunfire in a Newark neighborhood, locating shell casings at the scene.
The incident occurred around 12:40 a.m. in the area of 307 7th Avenue, prompting a swift response from several police officers.
Upon arrival, units taped off the neighborhood and conducted a thorough search.
Although they found shell casings, no gunshot victims were located. The suspect fled the scene and remains at large. It is not clear who the suspect was targeting.
The investigation is ongoing as police work to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
