Irvington firefighters rescued a dog that was trapped in a house that ignited into flames this morning in the Township.
Several 911 calls reporting a house fire had firefighters in the 300 block of Park Place at around 5 a.m.
Fast responding firefighters arrived at the scene and noticed smoke and flames coming from the first floor of the two and a half story house according to officials.
It took crews less than a half-hour to bring the blaze under control where they searched the residence for injured and trapped occupants. No injuries.
Three adults and a newborn baby were temporarily displaced
Maplewood Fire Department provided mutual assistance at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
