A verbal dispute between two men in Newark turned violent when one of the men pulled a knife and stabbed the other, then left the scene.
Police and EMS were called to the area of Stone and Park Avenue at around 5 a.m. for reports of an injured person.
Arriving units located a male suffering a stab injury at that location. EMS transported the victim to University Hospital where his injuries were not immediately reported as life threatening.

Police were searching for the suspect as of early this morning.
There are no reports of arrests made.
