Police in Bergen County closed all lanes on Route 3 to investigate a crash that caused severe injuries in East Rutherford Saturday morning.
According to police, the crash happed in the eastbound lanes near Metlife Stadium around 1:30 a.m.
Police say emergency responders arrived and found a severely damaged car with occupants heavily trapped inside.
Firefighters from Lyndhurst Rescue assisted in the operation that had three victims rushed to an area hospital suffering severe injuries.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
