State Police officials in New Jersey are looking into the cause of a crash that injured a person on a highway that runs in the state.
According to a preliminary investigation, at approximately 2:20 a.m., police responded to reports of a crash with possible injuries in the northbound lanes of the Garden State Parkway near mile marker 120 in Matawan.
Upon arrival, police closed a section of the highway after they found a crashed vehicle with an unconscious victim.
Police say the injured was rushed to Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center in serious condition.
A crash investigation team arrived at the scene to assist in the active and ongoing investigation.
