NJ State Police officials are looking into a crash that injured at least one person on a highway in Hackensack early Sunday morning.
According to state transportation officials as of 3:41 a.m. police closed several eastbound lanes of I-80 near exit 64 Summit Avenue near NJ-17 as they conducted their crash investigation in the local lanes.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and found a heavily trapped occupant of a vehicle that collided with one other car.
The victim was extricated but suffered severe injuries according to reports. There were other non-life threatening injuries reported.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
