Authorities are looking into a crash that sent at least one person to the hospital early Saturday morning in Elizabeth.
According to preliminary reports, the crash happened at approximately 2:45 a.m. in the vicinity of Spring and East Jersey streets where emergency responders arrived at the scene to find the car crash with trapped occupants.
Crews extricated the patient from the vehicle then handed them over to EMS for the transport to the hospital where the extent of their injuries are unknown.
Police closed the northbound lanes for the crash investigation.
The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.
