Camden County firefighters responded to a significant house fire early Tuesday morning that damaged a residence and endangered neighboring homes in Camden.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the 300 block of North 27th Street after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting a fire in the area.
Upon arrival, firefighters found a single-story home engulfed in flames, with the fire quickly spreading to adjacent properties.
Crews immediately entered the burning structure and successfully rescued one occupant. Shortly after the rescue, the fire caused the second floor to collapse.
The rescued victim was transported to Cooper Medical Center and treated for smoke inhalation.
Additionally, a firefighter sustained an unspecified injury but is expected to recover.
Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control within 30 minutes. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
