Authorities are investigating a fatal pedestrian strike involving an off-duty West New York officer.
Police have not released the identity of the officer but identified pedestrian, Guiltier Guicoy-Mutzutz, 28, of North Bergen, who was struck last night as he crossed Kennedy Boulevard near 70th Street in North Bergen.
The off-duty officer, who was in his personal vehicle, was on his way to work when the crash occurred.
Authorities have confirmed the incident but are still gathering information, adding investigation is still ongoing.
Guicoy-Mutzutz was transported to Palisades Medical Center where he was pronounced dead just before noon on today.
The Hudson County Sheriff's Office is handling the investigation.
