Police announced that two men wanted in connection with a violent Clifton street robbery have been identified and charged.
According to authorities, on December 5th two male victims were walking near Kulick Street and Central Avenue around 8:30 p.m., when two individuals - approached them and demanded their valuables.
Police say when the victims refused, one of the suspects stabbed one of them in the abdomen and then fled the scene.
The injured victim - only described as a 52-year-old man - was treated at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson.
Investigating officers subsequently identified the suspects as Herrey Gonzalez, 20, of Passaic and 21-year-old Joao Silva of Clifton.
Officials say one of the suspects was taken into custody after a surveillance operation on Dec. 18th. The second suspect turned himself into the Passaic County Jail on December 23rd.
Police charged both men with Attempted Murder, along with Robbery and weapons-related offenses. One of the suspects has since been released due to Bail Reform.
