Dry Start to Thanksgiving Eve Travel, But Rain, Snow Expected for the Holiday

The National Weather Service (NWS) forecasts increasing cloud cover throughout the day, with a high near 51 degrees and west winds at 5 to 7 mph.

Tonight, forecasters say rain is likely after 4 a.m., with cloudy skies and lows around 41 degrees. Precipitation chances stand at 60%, with light and variable winds expected.

NWS meteorologists say Thanksgiving Day will bring widespread rain, with highs near 45 degrees. Depending on your location, some areas in New Jersey may even see snow, adding to potential travel challenges.

Drivers are urged to leave early today to avoid worsening evening congestion.

Thanksgiving travel is expected to be bumper-to-bumper on many major routes, compounded by weather concerns.
