Drunk Driver Slams Into NJ Transit Light Rail Train in Hoboken

NJ Transit Police are investigating a crash in which a drunk driver collided with a Hudson-Bergen Light Rail train early Friday morning in Hudson County.AdAccording to transit officials, the incident occurred at approximately 12:15 a.m. at the Paterson Plank Road crossing near the 2nd Street station in Hoboken.

The operator of the light rail reported back pain and was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.

Fortunately, none of the eight passengers on board the train were injured.

The driver of the car was arrested at the scene by NJ Transit Police for driving under the influence.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing, with NJ Transit Police leading the efforts.Ad
