The driver of an SUV was flown to the hospital with serious injuries after the vehicle crossed over the center median and overturned on Interstate 78.
According to police, the driver of the Nissan Xterra was traveling east near milepost 32.9 in Bernards when he drove into the westbound lanes before the vehicle overturned at approximately 6:16 a.m.
Officials said the driver was flown to Morristown Medical Center in serious condition.
Police said there were no other vehicles involved and the Nissan driver was the only occupant in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
