Driver in Paramus Crash That Killed Garfield Women Charged

A 23-year-old Garfield woman has been charged with with two counts of death by auto and DWI after the fatal weekend crash in Paramus.

Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal announced charges against Jasmine Cruz, who is accused of operating her 2001 Ford Mustang in a reckless manner and intoxicated causing car to rolled several times off Route 4 and into the parking lot at Bergen Towne Center.

According to authorities, officers responded to the Bergen Town Centre parking lot on Sunday, at approximately 1:09 a.m., on multiple reports of a serious, roll-over, motor vehicle crash.

Upon arrival, officers found the heavily damaged Ford Mustang with the four occupants of the vehicle ejected.

Mariah Gomez, 20, and Jenna Disclafani, 18, both of Garfield died from their injuries.

Cruz and a third passenger, later Identified as Kevin A Coiro, 23, both suffered non-life threatening injuries.

According to authorities, Cruz is expected to remained free until her court hearing.
