Driver Accused of Hit-and-Run in Linden was Arrested by Rahway Police

The man accused of deliberately striking a 26-year-old Perth Amboy man in Linden was arrested in in Rahway last night, Linden police said.

Although details surrounding the arrest were not immediately available, Captain James Sarnicki thanked media for exposure of the case which police say lead to the arrest. 

The incident occurred on January 28, at approximately 11:52 p.m. on Essex Avenue in Linden, Captain James Sarnicki said.

The 26-year-old Perth Amboy man was knocked over by the vehicle driven by Jimenez-Pinales. The victim was treated for bruises and abrasions to his shoulder, leg and hands, police added.

An arrest warrant was issued for Jimenez-Pinales, charging him with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon (car) for an unlawful purpose, Sarnicki said.

Jimenez-Pinales was placed under arrest last night in Rahway but had since then been turned over to Linden.
