South Brunswick Police are investigating a potential domestic violence incident that resulted in a man being accidentally run over by his girlfriend early this morning.SBPD officers were dispatched to a home on Harvey Road at 7:30 am Monday in response to a report of a pedestrian hit by a car.
According to initial reports, a 46-year-old man was engaged in a dispute with his 37-year-old girlfriend. In an attempt to prevent her from leaving, the man sat in front of her car.
The woman exited the vehicle to ask him to move but inadvertently left the car in drive, causing it to roll over the man.
The man sustained serious injuries and was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for treatment.
The South Brunswick Traffic Safety Bureau is currently investigating the incident.
No charges have been filed at this time.
