Police are investigating a shooting that injured two people overnight in the city.
Reports of multiple rounds of gunfire was called into police shortly after midnight in the 600 block of Bergen Street rushing units to the scene where they immediately setup a crime scene after locating several shell casings at that location. A search of the area came up negative for victims.
Police focused their attention on the University Hospital a short time later after learning that a bullet riddled vehicle with injured occupants had arrived.
At least two people were reportedly shot with one of the victims seriously injured.
An investigation is being conducted by Newark Police.
