A distressing incident occurred in Cedar Grove on Tuesday evening, as a Department of Public Works (DPW) employee was seriously injured in a pedestrian strike.The accident occurred around 5:45 p.m. near the intersection of NJ-23 and Sweetwood Drive.
According to preliminary information, the town worker was struck by a vehicle, resulting in serious injuries.
Emergency responders quickly transported the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment.
As of 4 a.m., Wednesday, the worker's condition was reported as serious, but specific details about the extent of the injuries remain undisclosed.
In response to the accident, the Cedar Grove Fire Department was summoned to the scene to provide necessary lighting, aiding detectives as they meticulously gathered evidence and information to ascertain the cause of the crash.
Fortunately, no other injuries were reported in this incident.
