Continuous calls from residents to Newark Police top officials had officers arrest ten (10) individuals, including four from out of town, for prostitution and soliciting last night (Thursday).
According to Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose, in response to several "quality of life complaints" in the areas of Sherman Avenue, Frelinghuysen Avenue, Fabyan Place and Broadway, detectives conducted an operation in which the ten individuals were arrested.
Director Ambrose said, those arrested and charged with Prostitution and Soliciting Prostitution from Newark, are Ms. Shareena T. Daniels, 33, Ms. Tara Wheeler, 31, Ms. Christina Stocky, 38, Ms. Khristine Miles, 20, Ms. Regina C. Ditonto, 26, and Ms. Kim Little, 50.
Director Ambrose said also arrested as part of this operation are Ms. Crystel Lascano, 30, of Jersey City, and Ms. Diana Baldwin, 50, of Irvington.
Two additional Irvington residents Ms. Charneice T. McClain, 40, and Ms. Sheena Varnor, 46, are both further charged with Contempt of Court for outstanding warrants.
These charges are merely accusations.
Each suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
