EMS transported two people to area hospitals after the pair suffered stab wounds overnight in the city.
Reports of a injured person sent police to the area of Shrewsbury Avenue and Earl Street at around 1:30 a.m. where they found two people suffering stab injuries according to reports.
One of the victims was transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center while the other victim was taken to Riverview Medical Center, both suffering serious injuries reports said.
A search of the area by police using search dogs had officers looking for a suspect that reportedly fled the scene in an unknown direction.
The motive for the stabbing is under investigation.
