Double Shooting Has Franklin Twp. Police Investigating

A Tuesday night shooting that injured two men in Franklin Township has police investigating.

According to authorities, police responded to the area of Eugene Avenue for a report of shots fired and a vehicle accident shortly before 6:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers found a vehicle had crashed through a detached garage on Eugene Avenue. The victims - only described as a 39-year-old man from Somerville, and a 38-year-old man from Bridgewater - were at the scene suffering from gunshot wounds.

The Sommerville victim was laying on the ground suffering a gunshot wound to the shoulder while the Bridgewater victim was on the driver's side with a gunshot wound to his back.

Both victims were transported to an area trauma center were one is listed in stable condition and the other was listed in critical condition.

The detailed circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, according to officials.
