A set of separate armed robberies that occurred in Newark's Ironbound section has police on the search for suspects.
In the first incident, police were called to the 70's block of Nichols Street to investigate a reported robbery that occurred before 9 p.m. on Monday.
According to preliminary reports, officers arrived to find the victim who told them that two male assailants approached armed with a gun and demanded personal possessions.
The victim stated that the suspects took items then fled the scene in a silver-colored Jeep.
In the remaining robbery, early morning reports of an armed robbery in progress had police in the vicinity of Union and Lafayette streets where they began a search for two black males who committed an armed robbery at gunpoint before 4:20 a.m.
The suspects fled the scene northbound on Union Street in a black Mazda reports said.
There were no physical injuries in either incident. The robberies do not appear connected.
