Police are investigating a crash that killed a two males in Mahwah.
At approximately 9:17 a.m. this morning, a NJ Department of Transportation employee discovered a blue Lexus off of the roadway in the woods on I-287 southbound at milepost 62.5 in Mahwah.
As investigators searched the crash scene, two males - later identified as 19-year-old Samuel Cali, and 19-year-old Leonidas Vagias, both of Towaco - were found deceased outside of the vehicle.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation. were found deceased outside of the vehicle.
Preliminary investigation at the scene indicates that the males were ejected from the vehicle during the crash. It also appears that the initial crash may have occurred sometime last night.
There were no road closure, according to police.
The New Jersey State Police Totowa Station and the Fatal Accident Investigation Unit are leading this active investigation.
