Newark Police are investigating two carjackings that occurred early Sunday morning in the city.
According to reports, the first carjacking happened in the 300 block of North 11th Street, shortly before 2:30 a.m., where cops arrived to the scene and met the victim who told them that shortly before their arrival, about four black male suspects approached with guns drawn and demanded the keys to his 2006 Mercedes S35.
The victim said that two of the suspects were armed with weapons during the incident and the vehicle had NJ license plates " D71GTW".
In a separate carjacking incident, several police units were called to the 300 block of Woodside Avenue, shortly before 5:30 a.m., after receiving reports of a carjacking with shots fired.
Cops arrived to the scene where the victim told them that a white and Hispanic male approached and motioned as if they had a weapon and demanded the keys to his 2006 silver Hummer.
The suspects did not produce a weapon and there were no shots fired the victim told police.
The vehicle has a Maryland license plate numbers "7CG5505"
There were no physical injuries reported in either carjacking.
