Elizabeth police are looking for a suspect wanted for an armed carjacking in a section of the city Friday night.
Elizabeth City Spokeswoman Ruby Contreras said at approximately 11:30 p.m., police were dispatched to the 400 block of Pennington Street to investigate reports of a carjacking in progress.
According to Spokeswoman Contreras, police arrived at the scene and found a DoorDash delivery man who told them an armed suspect approached while he delivered food and demanded that he drop the keys to his vehicle.
Spokeswoman Contreras said the victim complied and the suspect made off with a 2022 Honda CRV.
As of late Saturday night, police have spotted the suspect speeding through sections of Newark and Elizabeth.
Contreras reported no injuries in the carjacking.
