Police detained one person after a domestic dispute turned violent and had a man stabbed in Newark overnight.
The incident was reported in the teens block of Irvine Turner Boulevard shortly before 4 a.m. where cops were called to the scene after receiving reports of a physical altercation at that location.
Arriving units found a male victim suffering a non-life threatening stab wound to the head according to initial reports.
The victim was transported to University Hospital where he was expected to survive.
The identity of the detained person has not been released by authorities at this time.
The investigation is being conducted by Newark Police and is active.
