EMS units have been requested to the scene of a pedestrian strike that has a child seriously injured in at a location in Watchung.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to 600 block of Valley Road to investigate reports of an injured person at approximately 6:45 p.m.
Units arrived to find a child -around the age of 12-suffering injuries after a car struck them at that location.
Police say the fleeing vehicle is a dark-colored SUV with front-end damage.
The child was rushed to Morristown Medical Center for treatment.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
