There is an active investigation into the motive for shooting that injured two victims in a section of Newark on Monday night.
According to a preliminary investigation, police responded to the vicinity of 30 Astor Place after gunfire rang out in the community around 10:40 p.m.
Officers arrived at the scene and found two unidentified victims suffering multiple gunshot wounds at that location.
Police say both victims were transported to University Hospital in serious but stable condition.
According to authorities, the male victim made it to the hospital in a private vehicle.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation and no arrests have been reported.
