Newark Emergency Responders are reporting non-fatal injuries for several pedestrians struck by a car in Newark’s Central Ward at this time.
It happened around 9:15 a.m. at the intersection of Jay and Sussex Avenue.
The car was operated and occupied by three juveniles who slammed into the pedestrians, then jumped out of the vehicle and ran from the scene.
Witnesses said two of the victims were thrown several feet due to the impact of the collision.
The injured were transported to University Hospital for treatment and are expected to recover.
The suspects remain at large.
There are no reports that the incident occurred due to pursuit at this time.
