DEVELOPING: Shooting Incident in Newark's South Ward Leaves One Injured

In a startling incident this afternoon, gunfire rang out in the 100 block of Milford Street in Newark's South Ward just before 3 p.m., resulting in one person suffering non-life-threatening injuries.

Upon their arrival at the scene,  police discovered shell casings and property damage, but no victims were initially found.

The Shabazz High School, located nearby, quickly modified its schedule to ensure the safety of the children within the building.

Shortly after the initial search, police canvassing the area located a male victim with a bullet wound to his arm near 5 Hunter Street.

Police promptly placed the injured individual in a vehicle and rushed him to the university hospital for treatment.

At present, the authorities have established a crime scene, and a comprehensive investigation is underway.AdThe circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation, and updates will be provided as the situation develops.
