Officials for the NJ State Police are looking into a crash that caused fatal injuries to one person on a highway in NJ.
According to NJ State Police spokesman Sergeant Flynn, police were called to the westbound lanes of I-80 near mile marker 56.5 in Paterson ton investigate reports of a crash with injuries reported shortly before 4:40 a.m.
State Troopers arrived at the scene and found two severely damaged vehicle with two injured victims at that location according to Sergeant Flynn.
According to police, one of the victims was pronounced dead a short time after the crash and a second victim was rushed to St. Joseph's Hospital in serious condition.
Police temporarily closed all westbound lanes for the crash investigation.
There were no other injuries reported.
