Police in Orange are canvassing a neighborhood in their city for a suspect wanted for a shooting that occurred in Bloomfield this afternoon.
According to a preliminary investigation, police in Bloomfield began to chase a vehicle wanted for shots fired in the 200 block of Bloomfield Avenue around 1:45 p.m.
According to police, the suspects bailed from the car in the 700 block of Valley Street and are now at-large.
At this time, it is not clear if police fired their weapons at the suspect or if the suspects initiated the gunfire.
Police have confirmed that the suspect is a black male, approximately 5'8" tall who was last seen wearing blue jeans, black sneakers.
Police say the assailant is bleeding from his arm but it is not clear if he is shot at this time.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
