FBI Officials have not confirmed the purpose of the can search as of 10:35 a.m., but at approximately 9:40 a.m. authorities focused their attention on a white van that was parked in a small lot at the Firestone Complete Car Car located in the 200 block of Central Avenue.
FBI spokeswoman Patty Hartman told RLS Metro Breaking News that she could only confirm that an investigation was taking place and involved agents but no other information is available at this time.
Spokeswoman Hartman did not confirm if the van was being sought by the FBI earlier in the week as media entities suggested in published reports.
A bomb squad unit was brought to the scene to assist in the investigation. FBI detectives and Sheriff Officers were observed going in and out of the van but there were no indication that anyone was inside.
No arrests were made.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
