A man who was repairing a vehicle on a NJ highway Wednesday morning suffering massive injuries after a jack malfunction causing the vehicle to fall on him.
According to a preliminary statement released by authorities, the incident happened at around 8:45 a.m on I-78 Express lanes near exit 55.
Authorities say that the man was repairing the van -or possibly changing a tire- when the jack somehow malfunctioned causing the vehicle to fall on him.
Port Authority Police officers were able to extricate the man from the vehicle then perform CPR until other emergency responders arrived at the scene.
EMS rushed the victim to University Hospital where he remains in critical condition according to reports.
The incident remains under investigation.
