Police in Newark are on the scene conducting a shot fired investigation on a street in the city's South Ward at this time.
Reports of shots fired rang out in the 200 block of Renner Avenue at approximately sending police to the scene at about 2:20 p.m. where officers began to canvas the area for victims according to preliminary reports.
After a search of the area, police found a vehicle struck by bullets but there were no injuries reported.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
