Detective are on the scene of a pedestrian strike that has one person fatally injured in the city's East Ward at this time.
The inicident happened before 9 p.m. in the area of Raymond Boulevard and Jefferson Street sending police and emergency responders to the scene where they found the unidentified victim.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office are also on the scene leading the investigation and attempting to determine the official cause.
The identity of the victim has not been released.
