EMS rushed a male gunshot victim to University Hospital while police investigate a shooting that occurred in the city’s South Ward Thursday morning.
According to preliminary reports, the incident happened in the 100 block of Seymour Avenue at around 8 a.m. where police officials received reports of shots fired.
Newark South Ward police units arrived at the scene found an unidentified male victim struck in the chest by bullets according to officials.
Police closed off the area near a park where they canvassed for possible additional victims.
The extent of the victim’s injuries have only been reported as severe.
