A shooting in one of Newark's neighborhoods have police investigating a fatality.
Gunfire rang out in the 800 block of South 16th Street sending police to the scene where they found a male victim shot multiple times.
Medics pronounced the victim dead on the scene.
Police have a crime scene established and an investigation is underway.
A male suspect has been detained. Police are attempting to determine if he fired the shot hat killed the victim.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
