Police in Newark are on the scene of a shooting with a confirmed connection on a male inside a building in the city's South Ward at this time.
Police taped off the vicinity of Stratford Place and Clinton Avenue after gunfire rang out inside a building located at 19 Stratford Place at approximately 2 p.m.
Units entered the building and found a male suffering a gunshot wound to the arm on the upper floors of the building according to preliminary reports.
The victim was rushed to University Hospital where he is expected to survive his injury.
Police are looking for two black males who were last observed fleeing the scene in a black vehicle immediately after the shooting.
The motive for the incident remains under investigation.
