There are injuries reported for several occupants of a NJ Transit bus crash in Newark this morning.
NJ Transit officials told RLS Metro that the crash happened outside the University Hospital on the Bergen Street and 12th Avenue side at around 7:17 a.m., where emergency responders arrived to find a bus and car collided, causing no damage the bus and minor bumper damage to the vehicle.
NJ Transit officials say the #34 bus -traveling from Newark Penn Station to Bloomfield- was filled with about 58 passengers with two apparent suffering injuries.
Officials say about a dozen passengers reportedly walked themselves the short distance to the hospital for evaluations.
None of the injured were reported to be life-threatening at this time. Newark Police will handle the investigation, NJ Transit officials said.
