These images were sent in by RLS Metro Breaking News platform members and showed firefighters battling a blaze that ignited inside a multi-family building in the 20's block of Irving Street.
According to preliminary reports, the fast-moving fire broke out on the third floor then quickly spread to the roof of the home at approximately 9:15 a.m.
Newark Firefighters arrived and immediately began beating down flames that tore through the wood-framed structure.
Reports say crews were able to make it inside the structure where they performed a search for trapped and injured occupants. There were no serious injuries reported.
Firefighters placed the blaze under control in minutes with the cause under investigation. Three families, consisting of eight adults and no children, have been relocated.
