The Essex County Prosecutor's Office are on the scene investigating circumstances behind a body that was found inside a park in Newark's North Ward this afternoon.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the vicinity of the gazebo at Branch Brook Park at around 12:30 where they found an unconscious and unresponsive male at that location.
Medical personnel pronounced the victim dead at the scene according to officials.
The manner of the male's death and his identity has not been released at this time.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
**UPDATE 2:40PM:** Essex County Sheriff Armando B. Fontoura, through Crime Stoppers, has just issued a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect involved in this incident by calling **973-621-4111** Victim suffered a gunshot wound.
