There is a large crime scene established in Newark’s upper West Ward as police investigate a shooting with two people injured at this time.
This is what's coming into us preliminarily, at approximately 8:30 p.m., multiple rounds of gunfire rang out in the 90’s block of North Munn sending about a dozen police officers to the scene where they found a male victim unconscious suffering bullet wounds, multiple shell casings and blood in the area.
The victim’s injuries are reported to be life-threatening at this time.
At around 8:45 p.m., Rutgers Police contacted Newark Police when a gunshot victim entered University Hospital According to reports.
The walk-in victim reportedly arrived in a private vehicle as he told police that his injury occurred on North Munn.
The motive into the shooting is in the early stages of the investigation and the suspect/s remain at-large.
