Police in Newark are on an active search for suspects who are wanted for a shots fired incident that had bullets strike the door of a home in Newark this afternoon.
According to authorities, officers responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the vicinity of Jelliff and Avon avenues at around 4:15 p.m.
Units arrived on the scene began to canvass the scene for shell casings and victims when they located a door to a home struck by a bullet in the 100 block of Jelliff Avenue.
Police say a blue Toyota Camry with a reported NJ license plate number of “B75-KRN” was observed speeding from the scene immediately after the shooting. The registration comes back to a stolen car from Montclair according to reports.
Police recovered a weapon at the scene of the shooting according to reports.
There were no injuries reported.
