Police and detectives have a crime scene established in a section of Newark's North Ward for a shooting incident with a male injured at this time.
Officers responded to reports of shots fired near 317 Broadway shortly before 3:50 a.m.
When cops arrived, they found a male victim suffering a bullet wound in his leg.
The victim was transported to University Hospital and is reportedly in stable condition.
The suspect fled the scene and is at large.
No other injuries were reported.
