Police are on the scene of a shooting that injured a male in a section on Newark Thursday evening.
According to police, at approximately 6 p.m., gunfire rang out in the 500 block of South 10th Street.
Police said when they arrived, they found evidence that a shooting occurred, but no victims were located.
A short time later, officials at University Hospital notified police when the victim entered the emergency room struck in the arm by a bullet.
Police say the gunman fired nearly a dozen shots in the neighborhood before fleeing the scene.
The victim is expected to make a full recovery.
