Fire officials in Paterson are investigating a suspicious fire that ignited inside a home in the city this afternoon (Tuesday).
According to early reports from Paterson officials, at approximately 1:50 p.m., firefighters were called to 426 Sussex Avene after receiving reports of a fire around 2 p.m.
Upon arrival, firefighters entered the burning two and a half house and found a severely injured, unconscious and unresponsive male suffering a stab injury.
Firefighters performed CPR on the victim who they believe stabbed himself but did not confirm how the victim obtained his injury.
Investigators from The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office were called the scene to assist in the investigation.
The extent of the victim's injuries could not be confirmed.
Firefighters were able yo knock the blaze down in under an hour with no other injuries reported.
