Police took two students into custody and charged with arson after the pair allegedly set a bathroom on fire Monday morning.
According to a statement released by police, The Jersey City Fire Department responded to Ferris High School around 10 a.m. this morning after receiving reports of a fire inside the building.
Officials say upon arrival, firefighters quickly extinguished a small fire located in a rubbish bin inside of a bathroom.
Police took two juveniles in custody for allegedly starting the fire officials said. The two suspects are both Ferris students.
According to officials, there is moderate damage to the bathroom area, including some water damage.
Staff and students were evacuated for over an hour and have since returned to classes.
The incident remains under investigation.
