Heavy police presence is on the scene of a high school in Essex County as police search the building for a possible weapon at this time.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to Irvington Township High School at around 9:20 a.m. after they received information of a student who made a threat of having a weapon to another student.
Township Police were joined by The Essex County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit for a sweep of the building.
Parents told RLS Media that School officials informed students not to make calls home or communicate the issue with their guardians.
According to parents, a male student was taken out of the building but there are no official confirmation of an arrest.
Calls to Irvington Police has gone unanswered at this time.
No injuries have been reported.
