Detectives from the Essex County Prosecutor's are in the early stages of their investigation where they are looking into a shooting that left a man dead this evening in Irvington.
According to the Prosecutor's Office, a male victim was struck by gunfire in the 400 block of Myrtle Avenue then pronounced dead a short time later.
There are no arrests reported, and the motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
